BRIC GUEST SPEAKER: Food Waste Biomaterials w. Sofía Perales March 5th
See you all at RISD Prov Wash [20 Washington Place Lobby] from 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Hey there, BRIC!
We hope that you’ve had a great week so far, the past weeks were so fun! Thank you all for coming!

As a quick introduction for the start of our Spring 2022 Semester, let’s welcome our wonderful BRIC E-Board Members!
Gelatin-based Eggshell Biocomposite Workshop Recap!:
Big thanks to our BRIC E-Board Co-President Carmen for creating and facilitating the workshop and making the journals!
In our second workshop, Gelatin-based Eggshell Biocomposites, we were happy to see the different levels of experimentation with molding techniques and open conversation!
We as BRIC would love everyone to document and share explorations with each other through our BRIC journals!
If interested in making Gelatin-based Eggshell biomaterial [located on top left] at home or for future exploration, here is the link to the recipe found from Materiom: an open educational hub working with companies, cities, and communities on archiving materials [i.e. biomaterials] sourced from larger regenerative circular economies.
UPCOMING GUEST SPEAKER:
We’re excited to invite you to our second guest speaker, Sofía Perales, founder of Matter Wise and Industrial + Material Designer pursuing her second master’s degree in Advanced Materials Science and Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya [UPC], Spain.
Please join us this Saturday, March 5th from 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM @ RISD Prov Wash [20 Washington Place Lobby] in learning more about her practices in material science, Biodesign, sustainable manufacturing, circular economies/materials, and waste systems! We hope to have both RISD and Brown community members, so feel free to reach out to friends, peers, and classmates if interested!
Please also remember to bring your pens, pencils, and BRIC journals to take notes with! [We will be providing more BRIC journals for those who haven’t received one!]
IMPORTANT:
For Saturday’s Guest Speaker event we would love to all be meeting in person at @ RISD Prov Wash [20 Washington Place Lobby], please make sure to RSVP in our Google Form. We also understand that if you cannot meet in person, please still fill out the form for future event programming, and email our Co-President at cbelmont@risd.edu for a zoom link!
Looking forward to seeing you!
